8 Basic Stances
(2.3 MB):
The Ji Ben
Ba Shi or Ba Da Ma Bu is quintessential foundation building for
Tanglangquan. In CCK TCPM, the Ba Shi (8 stances) are performed as a mini form
as seen in the clip. We put a longer pause in between the 3 sections for viewing
purposes.
Iron Ox Ploughs the Field
(1.5 MB): Iron Ox Ploughs the Field is basic traditional core strength
training exercise. It is also almost identical Hindu push up. The mantis version
of Iron Ox Ploughs the Field is remarkably similar to Yoga asanas’ Surya
Namaskar (Sun Salutation).
Ground-Work
(3.5 MB)
:
Our club
in Yellowknife offers a pragmatic approach to reconcile classical martial arts
methodology with modern martial sports paradigm. Here are some drills that
address the stand up, clinch, and ground phases of hand to hand combat. Besides
drilling, sparring is also encouraged to pressure test techniques. As seen in
the clip, there is as much hard work as fun. That’s the basic philosophy of the
club.
Xian Ren Gong Shou (immortal arches hands)
(2.8 MB):
This is the first road of the 18 Luohan Gong and the drills for applying it
in self defense situations. Our version is not only a health exercise but also a
practical self defense form.

Students involved in the following clips are
as follows (written by Kaveh):
Kaveh:
Black T-Shirt with Gray Pants (Sifu Hui's CCK TCPM student )
Ron:
Black Tank Top with Blue Pants (TaeKwon Do / Grappling)
The surroundings for the following training
sessions could not get any more real than this (for all these clips). Have
a look:
Stand-Up-Only Sparring#1(NEW,
6MB):
In this clip, these students' objectives are
to use kicks, punches, and sweeps to subdue the opponent (of course, without
injuring the other person, as it is only a training session-- but a few may slip!) .
Stand-Up-Only
Sparring #2(NEW,
3MB, similar to above)
Stand-Up-Only
Sparring #3(NEW,
6MB, similar to above)
Sparing with Take Down
(NEW,
8MB):
In this clip, these two students
are basically going at it almost all out, except that they try to avoid leaving
bruises on each other faces (we all have to go back to work next day).
Once a dominant position has been achieve by either fighter then they get back
up to go at it again.
To The
Ground: (NEW,
5MB, description written by
Kaveh):
This is a quick
demonstration of two students trying to put their techniques and counters to
work. The best way to learn is to get down and dirty in a real outside
environment! Of course, Sifu Hui always manages to slip in a comic moment.
Have a look.
