(Sifu Galen Huo)
ProfileMany disciplines, academic or spiritual, eventually train their students to realize this paradox which is the key to understand nature. Kung Fu is unique in this because it allows the practitioners to physically experience and express this reality in its entirety through hard work and the merit of them. Life collides with changes, which create choices. Some of these choices are neither easy to make nor to accept. The practice of Kung Fu allows the individual to make those choices wisely and to accept outcomes as they are with utmost honesty and dignity.
History
Shaolin Taiji Praying Mantis division was founded in Shandong province, China, by a renowned master named Wang Lang. [1] Wang's family lived in Gimo County in Shandong province. In their village, they owned the majority of the lands and properties. Wang's father hired scholars to tutor young Wang Lang at home. He then returned to HK to study under the late Grandmaster Chiu Chuk Kai during 1987 to 1991. Currently, he is researching and teaching Grandmaster Chiu’s art CCK TCPM in Yellowknife, NWT, Canada.
Dynamics of Chiu Chuk Kai Tai Chi Praying MantisAbout 350 years ago, in Shandong province, China, a person named Wang Lang found the Praying Mantis Kung Fu style during his quest for excellence in his combat skill. It is believed that Master Wang prior to the creation of his own style was proficient in 17 various northern styles...(continued: Chiu Chuk Kai Tai Chi Praying Mantis, by Robert Hui)
Dedications & AcknowledgesThis website is dedicated to Grandmaster Chiu Chuk Kai, who was the very source of everything. Eric Ishii who provided the most organized archives of CCK TCPM that I have ever seen. Also, Goffery Gosonhing (Jack Wong’s student) whose dedication to walk the CCK TCPM path is inspirational for all of us. Although they passed on to the next life, their spirits will forever live in our hearts. I would like to extend special acknowledgement to my mentors and friends who have given me tremendous guidance and inspiration. They are Galen Fok, Roger Law, and Kevin Brazier. I would also like to express deep and sincere appreciations and thanks to all my Kung Fu brothers and friends who have been very supportive and help me to grow with Tanglangquan especially to Jack Wong, Stephen Cottrell, Brendan Tunks, Ilya Profatilov, Jochen Wolfgramm, Michael Martello, Jake Burroughs, Blanco Fernando and Brian Bateman. There are many others whom I have missed in haste. But you know who you are and your continuous and non falling support is deeply appreciated. Also, of course, my student Kaveh who is the technical genius that put the site together.
